So now you’re following our Shred and eliminating some things from your diet and adding in others. But why? The best and simplest answer is to “MANAGE MUFFIN TOP and BRAIN FOG”. And some people truly use it as a 10 or 21- day tool to control both of these conditions. But let’s be more specific. Why do we shred dairy, gluten, refined and artificial sugars, caffeine, alcohol and processed foods? Over the next few weeks we will discuss each one separately.
Today let’s discuss dairy: dairy, including milk, yogurt, cheese, butter, sour cream, and ice cream are among the top food groups that promotes inflammation. Every step we take to
reduce inflammation helps your body heal and recover. And helps launch better overall health and wellness. The proteins found in milk are designed to nourish baby claves. But these same proteins, including whey, BSA, and casein were not designed for humans. Therefore, the human body produces antibodies against these cow proteins. This in turn can cause allergies, asthma, and skin disorders, but most often in the form of chronic low-grade inflammation. This low-grade inflammation upsets the gut environment and impairs the liver’s ability to detoxify and cleanse. Dairy is also highly acidic to the body (Toni will discuss this in great length in her talk).
A diet high in acidic foods (dairy, meat, processed foods, etc.) will rob calcium from our bones in order to get our PH balance back to neutral. This is why studies show that countries that consume the most dairy actually have the highest incidences of osteoporosis.
The good news is that there are great plant based milk alternatives. Try them in your shakes!!! There are also great alternatives to WHEY protein. During the shred please eliminate the use of Whey. Many people are unaware it is a dairy product. Of all the things we shred during these 10 or 21 days, dairy is the one we recommend you continue to eliminate or reduce significantly.
